Outsourced Technology Department
 
Client Situation: 

A mid sized organization specializing in exclusive high end residential and commercial construction projects was growing rapidly, attracting large clients, and expected to double in size within two years. Management was concerned about reoccurring business disruptions related to their unstable technology infrastructure. They worry it would be unable to support the organization’s rapid growth.

 
ATS Solution:

ATS performed an extensive network assessment including analysis of firewall configuration, virus protection, security patches, SPAM protection, security polices, hardware and software licensing, data backups, and assessed what their overall support needs were. In addition to the technology infrastructure, our assessment included interviews with the Management and Staff to determine if all their technology needs were being met.

Our analysis included a comparison of their current technology standards to industry benchmarks to determine if the company was making effective use of their technology budgets. We also reviewed written policies, business continuity plans, and related procedures and guidelines.

ATS’s technology deliverables included a report of findings as well as recommendations, costs and a prioritized Action Plan to migrate their support systems onto ATS’s 24/7 Help Desk program.

Company Merger
 
Client Situation:

Mid sized Event Services Company needed to merge its technology systems with its new parent company.

 
ATS Solution:

ATS surveyed both organizations’ technology systems and designed and developed a new network infrastructure that met everyone’s needs. ATS designed a new computer room and installed all components in it. ATS orchestrated the relocation of one company’s computer to their new facility and moved the other company’s operation from one part of the building to the other.

ATS designed and developed a new Windows based network infrastructure with a ROI of 18 months. ATS accomplished this by eliminating multiple dial-up ISP accounts, charges for hosted email and SPAM services, and utilized special non-profit software pricing. A call center’s core software used to operate their business was 10 years old. Downtime became a common occurrence as it became increasingly difficult to find local experts to resolve technical difficulties in a timely manner. This greatly impact productivity. Licensing costs and the high cost of training due to the complexities of the software prevented the company from pursuing large projects that required surges in temporary staffing. The server was also housed in a location vulnerable to data loss during power outages, theft, vandalism and accidental destruction.

 
ATS Solution:

Using ASP.NET 2.0 technology and C#, ATS built a web-based solution to replace the call center’s desktop application. The custom system was designed to be user-friendly and intuitive to users at all knowledge levels. The system was secured by hosting it on a server in a highly secure network facility, with full time monitoring, uptime guarantee, and offsite data backups.

An academic institute needed a custom solution to reset passwords through a web-browser interface. Some of their requirements were:

  • Automatically emails user with confirmation of reset password
  • Resides as standalone product
  • Unaffected by a planned upgrade to their SharePoint Portal Server
  • Integrates seamlessly with Active Directory
  • Reset password would apply to user’s SharePoint account
  • Change would propagate across entire domain
ATS Solution:

ATS used ASP.NET 2.0 technology and C# to develop the customized web-based application.

The application met all requirements and was easy to install, and could be deployed to the web server by a simple copy operation with no further setup. ATS also provided training and network specific documentation.

 
Data Analysis & Reporting
 
Client Situation: 

An independent research firm conducted annual employee satisfaction studies for a large restaurant chain with 61 different locations and departments. The reporting process used to generate the 61 reports needed was so cumbersome; it took 2 months to complete resulting in missed deadlines and overextended budgets.

 
ATS Solution:

ATS automated the data analysis and reporting process by authoring a Microsoft.NET software module that assembled all 61 Adobe PDF reports in minutes.
